A wise man, Brennan Manning, once said that, "The single greatest cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."This statement.... is sadly, and indeed, very true. We as Christians, have got to get to the place where we dont just "piss-on our beliefs." Instead of doing what maters most, we decide that we are good enough, and go out and act like idiots! Half the time, we dont even take into account the consequences of our actions. I'm not going to sit here and pretend to be "holier-than-thou," because the Lord know's, i'm probably one that made this statement by Brennan Manning true. Now... I'm not proud of that, and that is primarily why i am making this post.Christians, like myself, have got to get out there and bring glory to the Father's kingdom! 1Corinthians 10:31 "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." The bible tells us to do this! So then...why dont we? Is it because we don't care...? Is it because we don't want to be persecuted by our peers for doing what we know is right? That's a possibility... and I know, we screw up sometimes... and that's okay... God is gracious and forgiving. But we don't need to abuse this gift we have so graciously recieved, by just doing whatever the heck we please and saying... "Oh, well God will forgive me. It's okay." When you start doing that, you better take a good look at your heart, and realize that, something is deffinately wrong. 1Peter 5:8 "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." We must resist satan and do what is right and pleasing to God. If your "friends" persecute you for your beliefs and the things you do that are right in the eyes of the Lord... you should get some new friends. One's that really care....If you don't want to see people living a life that will send them to Hell. Get out there, and don't be a hippocrite. When you claim to be a Christian... ACT LIKE ONE!
